Lake Manitouwabing is located a short drive from Parry Sound near McKellar. It was originally 3 separate smaller lakes that were merged into one when a flood control dam was put in downstream. The result is a large “finger lake” with miles of shoreline and many small bays. Depending if you’re on where you are the water depth can vary greatly with the flooded area being quite shallow.
The large volume of shoreline has lead to a heavy cottage density on many areas of the lake. Most of the usable lands have been developed with few decent building lots available. The Ridge Golf Course has also been a large draw with many cottages selling for north of $1,000,000.00. In 2019 there were about 44 properties sold the majority of which were in the $450,000.00 to $750,000.00 range
